Steven, I get the same type of feelings and experiences reading the new “Messengers” version. It’s like visiting an old friend, remembering things and picking up on others that didn’t make an impact before. The same kind of questions have occured to me. Yes, Gary does have a marvelous gift of story-telling, doesn’t he? It’s always interesting to compare the insights of different people to see the same occurences from their perspectives. I hope your relationship with Gary has been maintained and perhaps some day you might team up for another story, Nick.

Am reading the new edition of the Messengers. Have any of you had that feeling when you listen to an old record (like maybe a classic rock release) and it takes you back. Like the good old days, but you also see or hear new things or have additional insight owing to the depth of experience and a new perspective bought with time. It is therapeutic for me too, in that it reminds me of something so much bigger than life’s daily challenges… I am not sure, but I think it is Gary’s influence as a storyteller that makes it particularly rich. It is a nice touch, a fortuitous synergy. It also brings up questions, not as much larger spiritual, though I have those too! But simple questions like: Nick, how is your family doing? Thomas? Didn’t Thomas post here once? How’s Abe? To folks who have not read, or not read in a long time, the Messengers, here is a hearty endorsement to pick up the new edition!

I would love to read that book. In our small community we have alot of abuse issues. I worked with a therapist/healer who would come here to work with children and adults to help heal the familys. I was excited to find out Sara and Yvonne were advocates for children. If Sara reads this I have a question to her. I have always wondered why our laws do not protect children from these abusers. Why are children not listened to? I worked with my friend making appointments and helping set up counceling for school kids. When my friend came to town to work it was all new for our community. We had no help for mental health or healing. I wish our country would take care of children,and elders and people with disabilitys. I was in Norway and the help that they receive there is amazing compared to America. Although they pay for it by being Socialists and paying taxes. I dont know I think i would be willing to pay more taxes if I knew that elders and children would be taken care of better. And to help change laws to protect them. God wants us to take care of each other. I know its not that simple…but i would love it to be

Nick I am sorry to hear your first wife passed away it must have been hard on you and your family. I lost my father but losing a wife is something on a totally different level. Are you a grandpa yet? You don’t have to answer. I was always told when one life goes to heaven another life returns to the same family. It’s funny it happened to my Mother she got a grandson a year after my dad passed away. When my nephew came to visit us from Alaska he said, Brian why are you so sad? I just couldn’t tell him what I was thinking. His poor grandpa never got to physically get to see him or talk to him. He was right I was sad. Speaking of my nephew his mother has mental illness and their lives are calm now but for a while there it was crazy. I have a question it kind of pertains to your answer to Cheri W says: February 2, 2012 at 7:22 am I am wondering do people with mental illness who hurt others do so on purpose?

I have always wondered why we choose the circumstances we choose for our life on this planet (third density). I have found many answers. The one i like most is the fact that we choose this life for the experience of the choice. We are spirits/souls having a human experience for the purpose of acquiring the particular experience. I see the various experiences of life as a “menu” in a restaurant. We make choices of the menu and we are served what we pick. The only caveat is that we have to try every item on the menu! Eventually. It’s a way I have found to make sense of the things i go through and see around me. Hope I am making sense!

Karen, I know our situation is different. I believe your daughter was given to you and that she is not different. Well know more so that the rest of us. She has a voice, its her family for now. But there are programs out there that can help. My mom..sorry again. In her last year or so she was so sick of me or someone else helping her with basic things in life decided to find out if she could find online some equipment to help her voice activate her life as she couldnt use her body. She found a organization for independent living and got a system…his name…Eggbert…it was funny she would say..Eggbert turn the light off or Eggbert Quickbooks as she had a business . So your daughter can do what she wants just in a different way. I know Im not Nick, but I have lived like you Karen with someone you wanted more for and its very hard. For me the answer is that God gave you her and she knew she was going to have this life as we all know what we are getting into before we get here. We act surprised but come on..isnt our life home to us. Karen your daughter came here knowing she would be in her body. She is going to do great as usual. correct? Maybe things take more time. How many of us dont have some type of disability of some kind. Karen take care of yourself first..your a blessing. Enjoy every moment. Your a great Mom I can tell. When my father died 12 years ago, I spent many years following reading everything I felt God led me to so that I could have a better understanding of spiritual truths. For a time, this included near death experiences. Some stand out to me still and one was Sandra Rogers. Her insights mention that those born with physical or mental challenges are evolved souls who come back to help provide opportunities for others to grow. This may not always be the case, but certainly I could see how it might be in many cases.

Wendy: Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. My story is a bit different in that I am the parent of a disabled child. My daughter is one of the sweetest, smartest souls you will ever meet. She has a movement disability which also affects her speech thereby making it impossible for her to converse with anyone other than family. This has also prohibited her from finding employment-people seem to judge her as inadequate due to her physical movements. She has finished high school and has also obtained an associate degree. It seems to be a harsh reality for anyone with “differences” in todays society which is what prompted me to ask Nick about the whys and wherefors of a soul choosing to be born with some sort of a disability. I only hope that as a whole, society can evolve and embrace everyone, regardless of perceived differences. Perhaps she-as well as your Mom-are here to help with that!

Karen, I have a thought on why someone is born handicapped or becomes handicapped.
My mom at my birth was diagnosed with rheum. arthritis. As i grew she didnt go into remission ever. She was a teacher , and then developed a company that would help people in rural Alaska to become familiar with further education for children and also to help them with helping themselves better there lives in these smaller communitys. Anyway she was a worker and also loved where she was from. Unalaska Alaska on the chain. My mother was Aleat and Norweigian. I admired her for getting out of a village and going away and getting an education and doing something for herself . She supported her children and raised us to be who we are today. But when I was about 16 her health changed. She was less able to do the things she wanted to do. But never whined about it she just grabbed a crutch and moved around the kitchen and cleaned and mopped and went to work . But see I ended up having to drive her to work and eventually took her in a wheel chair. But she never complained. She loved helping others and loved children and was always happy to get up in the morning and start the day. I was always having to give up things in my life to help her. But it was my honor to do so. She was my mentor and I had a great time with her always. What an amazing woman. What I am getting to telling her story is that she was learning so much through her difficultys as a person with a disability. And for me . I was learning so much from her but, I gave up lots to do this. But, she gave so much to me. One day I was sitting with her feeding her her lunch just a few years ago. She looked at me and said , Wendy do you know what I learned from being stuck in a chair and having to deal with this diability? I said no what mom. She said , I learned patience, I have learned to listen more than talk. I have learned to be okay with who I am. And if I didnt have this disease most of my life I dont know what I would be like. I asked her what do you think you would be like. She said, probably would have been more selfish with my time. I would have lived in a large city and done things more for me after you kids left. But instead we moved back to a small community in Alaska where family was. She did work with children from this community,battle of the books. Helped raise her grandkids. I told her one day Mom i know what I have learned also. She said , yeah what is that ? I said, if I didnt have to take care of you all of my life I know I wouldnt be as compassionate for others . I wouldnt be the caregiver that I am. Even though she is gone I still am a caregiver to others when needed. I know when someone feels stuck , its always good to maybe help pull them up and help in a repectful, loving,compassionate way. So this happened in our lives to help us grow spiratually too. My fiance said that is what made him want to meet me was that I took care of my mom for so long. Hes very sweet. Oh my neice who loved and always helped her grammie told me a story. One day at her dentist office she had a gentleman in a wheelchair who needed to use the bathroom. Jessica said, well doctor could you help him as he was the only other man there. Dentist said no, Jessica was so mad. She went out to the waiting room grabbed the gentleman and ran him to the bathroom. She told him she was a nurse and didnt think anything of helping him and did just that. Tough athletic 6 ft tall girl..grabbed him set him down and did everything. The guy was embarresed and said he was sorry. She said no problem stop saying sorry. I was glad to help. She told him she helps her grandma all the time. And its nothing. She called me an hour later to tell her aunt wendy how mad she was. See what this does for all of us. Not a negative but an honor to have these family members in our lives. We all miss her so much…funny , always positive, always listening….that is why I believe that everyone is equal and worthy of all that we do for them and with them. They help us grow and what we learn is priceless. Love to my mom and dad..god bless both of them..miss you mama…
I have often asked myself why there is evil in the world. But given free will to choose Oneness or separation are still ours. If we choose separation, we plummet down our Pryamids and some fall to the bottom. The more they choose to harm others, the farther they fall. Looking into the lives of a Hiler or a Daumer and how they were raised in their childhoods with lack of love and compassion might be acted out in a lashing out at the world around them into adulthood, never having healed their emotions. It is hard to feel forgivness toward someone like this who never once felt remorse for their actions. But if we truly believe that we are all One Spirit, then there is something within US that needs forgiving, and each of those surrounding those angry souls has somehow energetically played a part in such lashing out, by not being an example of Love and Compassion.
Who knows what kind of person we were in other lifetimes? Perhaps we committed evil acts at one time or another and have had to work through the karma involved.
I read something years ago about those who suffered in the Haulocaust that truly affected my life. As horribly they suffered, the Love and Compassion of some of the prisoners could not be beat or abused or starved out of them, and they chose to share their last bit of food with another and show them Love and Compassion. This really affected me and I feel tears well up in me as I type this. For it was a prime example of our power to choose Good, no matter what circumstances we are given. Had I not read of this example, I might not have come to this realization as quickly as I did. So, in Truth, we can learn spiritual Truths and experience spiritual growth from the worst circumstances and examples of inhumanity toward others, by looking at those who have overcome at great odds.
Someone I know personally had a horrific upbringing of abuse of all kinds throughout his younger years until his teens, when he managed to escape before threat of death. He had multiple personality disorder to cope with the abuse. But he walked to a church of his own choosing every Sunday where he learned of the Love of God, and that was his safe place.
He worked to pay for his own therapy for years to overcome his fears and insecurity. To see him now, you would never know he had ever had a problem and is probably the most loving compassionate person I know. He is my inspiration.
So, I guess you could say that I truly have seen that ALL THINGS do truly work for Good. ALL THINGS. Does that mean I sanction or approve of evil or believe it should not be disciplined or stopped? No. But we all have the opportunity for learning and growth from everything, if only to know what we don’t choose for our lives and learn the power and healing that comes from forgivness.

Cheri, thank you for asking that question – that is exactly what I wanted to ask this morning, but wasn’t sure how. Tammianne/Kay – your opinions do make sense. I am just wondering why there are spiritual forces out there that are evil – as one of you said long ago when I talked about my son seeing spirits – that we have to protect ourselves with the white light of the Holy Spirit. Was there/is there, or will there ever be an anti-christ/satan?

Cheri: just my opinion on your question…but, someone who comes into this plane to act evil is someone who volunteered to come here to teach compassion, forgiveness, to bring other humans together…it is actually to raise the vibration of the planet…it may not seem so on the surface, but much forgiveness is needed when these things happen on mega scales, as say Hitler. It effects thousands, millions, all over the planet….lots of karma to work through..I have cared for people who lived through the Holocaust and it is a very big lesson for the survivors, as well as the victims when they return…more karma to work through, more forgiveness, more compassion for those affected….more rising vibrations! up the pyramid. …so, it is my take that they teach others..

When ones past life is biblical of 2010 years ago do you have any recommendations? Past Life regression proving this, any other thoughts and ideas?
Please share any advice as we live in a small town name Xx meaning “new ground place”. There is no coincidence that years of things happening have happened for reason of awakening to who we really where. Others have seen this in him and strangers see it now.

Hi, Cheri:
I’m not sure if I have this exactly right, but my take on this would be that these souls have selected (possibly with their guides?) the life circumstances that would best give them the opportunities to attain spiritual growth or meet past life karma. However, it doesn’t mean that they will make any progress certainly if they make selfish or downright evil choices with the opportunities presented and the freedom to choose that we are all given. So they may lose ground as far as growth is concerned. Or when we look at someone who was not born into a life of abundance, but rather a life of poverty, we might wonder why someone would not choose a life of wealth? But, I think if we could stand on the edge of “time”, and view past lives, we would see why. Perhaps this person was miserly in a past life or looked down at the poor (karma) or perhaps if they are wealthy, it might be either that they had been generous in the past or that this is a test for their soul on just how they might use their wealth for reasons other than self, etc.

Nick- Why would a soul choose to live the life of say a Manson,or Dahmer who are evil at their very core. I could perhaps understand if before they died, they turned their lives around but most do not. What if the person was a hardened criminal and spent their life either in jail or worse yet, in society praying on people, what lessons of spiritual enlightenment would that give to a soul trying to go up the pyramid? Unfortunately there are a good number of truly evil people in the world and I just can’t understand why a soul would choose that existance. Nick: I’ve been reading with interest the posts on when the soul enters the fetus. My question is along the same lines but a bit different. What about the soul of a baby born with a handicap? Is that soul here to teach lessons to the rest of us as I have been told? Or to learn lessons for itself? Or both?

Thank you so very much for explaining the process of the souls entry into the fetus. Then it would make sense for my 2nd son to carry the soul of the one that I lost. (just as Kay and Bonnie described it – thank you ladies). It is so much more comforting to believe that even though you lose a child through miscarraige that they are never really lost – that puts my heart at ease. That is not the way it was explained to me by a minister awhile ago – I left there crying and feeling worse than I had before I talked with him.

It makes perfect sense to me, although I still choose to believe that a fetus is a human being that we bear the responsibility to protect the life of that child to the best of our ability. Life is sacred and a miracle of God and not to be treated as something we own and can throw away at will like so much garbage, no matter how he or she is conceived. I understand the hardship of those who carry a child foceably or before they are ready to parent a child. But what seems at first to be looked upon as a trial or extreme hardship can just as easily be looked upon as a great blessing that will enrich our life as long as we live. I know there may be those who would jump on this post in anger that I would judge someone or attempt to make them feel guilt for one reason or another, and such is not my intent or what I would do, but this is what I personally feel and the choice that I would have made in that situation. Joan and Kay, I have a story to share. This one was not a miscarriage, but an infant who was born with a birth defect and only lived 2 weeks…a little girl who was the only natural child of our former minister. As he shared the story in a sermon, his eyes welled with tears, and although he didn’t share it was his daughter, I learned later it was. His wife later adopted a girl and when she was grown and married, they had a daughter. Looking at the photograph of the granddaughter you would swear that she was the spitting image of our minister, even though she wasn’t a “blood relative.” I am certain that since our minister couldn’t conceive another child, that their daughter chose to come back as their grandchild. Joan, it is my feeling that the little girl you see in your dreams is indeed your little girl who greets you in your dreams. If you have another child at some point, don’t be surprised if she is born to you. And Kay, yes, I believe your son is the same soul/spirit who was waiting to be born to you. I, too, had a miscarriage many years ago and I have thought about it. My personal belief is that the physical body is only the vehicle for the spirit/soul, which is timeless/eternal. That is, that soul who would have come into the physical world through that body, existed prior to the conception. Possibly it was not able to sustain life or there were lessons to be learned or both. I have often wondered if our son who was born the year following the miscarriage that I had, is the same soul/spirit.

Jess: I love the story about the deer on the driveway..it’s nice that the simplest things can calm us or make us laugh…A squirrel comes by and visits..she will come up to the patio door and stand on her hind legs and look around for the food…it makes me laugh every time.. and then I get her more food..

Robert – that is very interesting. Does it say anything about 3:05? That is the time I woke up every night for about a year after my father died. That is the time of his death. I always thought it was strange – just not sure if it had any significance or if it was just me in mourning.
-Nick – I am wondering if you could tell me something I have questioned for a long time. (maybe it is in one of your books – I have all of your books that I haven’t read yet on order, so maybe I’ll find it there?). If you lose a child via miscarraige, does the soul live on and grow in the spiritual world or does the fetus never have a soul until birth? My husband and I saw our baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound – it was living and then the next ultrasound it was not. I have read so many contradictions to this and it has been something I really long to know. I guess I am wondering again this morning because I’ve had a few dreams about this little girl, she is just sitting around out in nature – she looks content, but when she sees me she runs to me like she has always known me, and grabs my hand and walks with me. Even in my dreams I know that I love her and look forward to seeing her. Last night I dreamt about her again. This time I asked someone that I saw in my dream if the little girl always sits up on top of the hill that I saw her sitting on. They said, she is here most of the time. At that point she turned and saw me and ran to me. I haven’t been able to make sense of it??

I recall one of your post about not being crazy about postings on other authors, however I hope you don’t mind my recommending Doreen Virtue’s book “Angel Numbers 101″,which can be ordered through Hay House.com or Amazon.com I hope you don’t mind since I’ve read where you’ve had contact with Doreen in the past. First I’d like to address the lady who had the 5:55 wake up, I have had this number come up for me quite often. The number 555 in the book is,”Huge changes are rumbling throughout your entire life! To keep these changes on the highest possible course be sure to keep your thoughts positive and stay centered in prayer and affirmations” Another number I see very often and I think others do also is 111 in the book it’s,”This number brings you the urgent message that your thoughts are manifesting instantly,so keep your mind-set focused upon your desires. Give any fearful thoughts to Heaven for transmutation.” I also see 441 very often I don’t know about others. In the book it’s,”The angles and archangles say that your thoughts are manifesting rapidly into material form so be sure to only think about your desires.Ask the angles to help you in staying positive.” Then there’s the number 444 which many of us see very often. The book states,”There are angles-they’re everywhere around you! You are completely loved,supported and guided by many Heavenly beings and you have nothing to fear.” I think this is close, Nick to your interpretation.
